COMPASS allows flexible, self-directed learning in the absence of a teacher (Garrison, 2000), which means the app can be used wherever and whenever the user chooses.
Research by Shuler (2009) notes that anytime, anywhere learning in a real-world context can help advance digital equity while bridging school, afterschool, and home environments.
